In the 2000 years since Jesus died, Christians have:
Beheaded,
burnt at the stake, hanged, murdered, waged war and indiscriminately
slaughtered men, women and children even as they waved the white flag
of surrender!
In the “Name of God”, Christians have:
Stretched
bodies on the rack, hung bodies from their limbs, made people think
they were drowning by torturing with water, physically mutilated both
living and dead as well as sexually mutilating dead women and raping
the living.
Believing it was God’s will, Christians have:
Flogged,
robbed, burnt homes, driven peoples from their lands, taken children
from their parents, split families and sold into slavery both
professing Christians as well as pagans.
While proclaiming to be Christians, they have:
Repressed,
ridiculed, kept illiterate and in poverty, enslaved, worked to death,
starved, initiated hate crimes, terrorized, imprisoned and perverted
justice.
And in the same Christian spirit, they have:
Annihilated
entire tribes, races and religions and attempted with varying successes
to do the same to many other tribes, races and religious orders
including Christians.
How do we know?
Hundreds of thousands of written records were kept by the very people
committing the atrocities. Laws were passed by governments: edicts
were issued by the leaders of the churches involved: diaries and
letters still exist: newspapers reported on events; military records
detailed the methods and kept tract of casualties; protestors published
rebuttals; ministers, pastors, priests, preached and published
articles. Justification of actions was made utilizing scriptures.
Today, still, we blindly justify our behaviour all in the name of God.
More importantly, we commit atrocities without any hint that we are
doing wrong, just as in the last 2000 years.
IN
FACT, within the lifetime of any of those old enough to read this, our
Christian nation slaughtered 10,000 people with out justification,
slaughtered 10,000 people frantically waving the white flag of
surrender. Barely a whimper occurred as This Christian Nation
didn’t even recognize an atrocity had been committed But as we examine
the atrocities committed by Christians, we will find that surrender to
a Christian usually meant certain death!
I am not writing this book to persuade or dissuade any one from
believing in God. Nor am I attempting to cause anyone to switch from
one denomination to another or for that matter, from one religion to
another. I have no desire to create new doctrines or to tear down old
doctrines.
I would hope that when you have finished reading this book that you will THINK!!!
I would hope that you would be able to see how things were done in the
“Name of God” that is truly unchristian like. And maybe get a glimpse
into why events took such a violent nature. But most of all I would
hope that I can introduce you to facts and factors in our current
society that you are unaware of or that just never occurred to you as
being atrocities. I would hope that you might see that, almost without
exception, all Christian denominations have participated in these
atrocities (Even if you would swear that your faith never did).
Finally, I hope that you can see the very right to practice your
religious beliefs rests upon the identification of dangers practiced
within the Christian faith at the present time.
