We had a fabulous meeting on Wednesday March 25th! Mike Sheets invited a couple
members of the Finance Committee/Board to join us and we had a lively discussion
which left everyone thrilled with the momentum behind this project. We have since
met with Tom Lee for even more constructive input regarding the location of the
garden(s). Our network of garden enthusiasts - Thank you Michael! - has produced
hoophouses for our use - at no cost!
We are so prosperous! What a joy to watch this all unfold :)
If you would like to add your name to the pledge sheet and/or write a letter of
support for the Unity Gardens, please feel free to respond to this email or contact
Carl Lewis, Lane Chandler, Sharon Mason-Foster, Drayton Riley or Judy Best. Feel
free to forward this email to other interested friends of the Unity Garden as we
intend to include this long list of supporters in our presentation to the Finance
Committee in May.
What's next:
We are going to take the ideas from recent meeting(s) and fine-tune/stream-line our
business plan in preparation for our presentation to the Finance Committee on May
11th.
In the meantime, dedicated leaders have stepped forward to start the process of
organizing the volunteer structure, market stand, signage, etc. There are many
wonderful opportunities to get involved. Keep an eye out for a list of immediate
projects - to be posted soon :) Happy Spring!

If you can't wait to get your hands into "Unity dirt" don't forget to sign up for
Diane Wilks' Adopt a Garden project. Many hands will make light work of setting out
the Chapel Easter plants in the shaded garden just north of the Spiritual Life
Center. Thanks, Diane! Call the Chapel for more information (816/251-3590).
